SECRET MENU: DAIRY QUEEN

Banana Split Blizzard

The DQ Banana Split Blizzard has everything you'd find in a regular banana split, but it's all mixed together. If you want it to be even better, you can ask for more bananas, strawberries, and pineapples. It might cost more, but it's great because you'll get real fruit in every bite.

SECRET RECIPE: BENIHANA 🤫 

Fried Rice

Special shout out to Fast Food Secrets Club member, Timothy Reklau, for the request. There is no question, this fried rice is probably in my top 3.

If you really want to be lazy, you can get the store version at Target right here:

But I’m going to tell you that this isn’t the same (it never is). This is 90% close in my opinion.

Ingredients

• 4 cups cooked white rice, cooled

• 1 cup cooked shrimp, chopped

• 1 cup cooked chicken, diced

• 1 cup frozen peas and carrots, thawed

• 3 tablespoons vegetable oil

• 2 tablespoons soy sauce

• 2 tablespoons butter

• 2 eggs, lightly beaten

• 2 green onions, chopped

• Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

1. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.

2. Add the beaten eggs to the skillet and scramble them until they are cooked through. Remove the scrambled eggs from the skillet and set aside.

3. In the same skillet, add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and heat it over medium-high heat.

4. Add the chopped chicken and shrimp to the skillet and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes until they are heated through.

5. Push the chicken and shrimp to one side of the skillet, creating an empty space on the other side.

6. Add the cooked rice to the empty space in the skillet. Stir-fry the rice for a few minutes, breaking up any clumps with a spatula.

7. Add the thawed peas and carrots to the skillet and continue stir-frying for another 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are heated through.

8. Add the soy sauce and butter to the skillet. Stir-fry everything together until the butter is melted and evenly distributed.

9. Return the scrambled eggs to the skillet and mix them in with the rice and vegetables.

10. Add the chopped green onions to the skillet and stir-fry for an additional minute.

11. Season the fried rice with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning as needed.

12. Serve the Benihana-style Hibachi Fried Rice as a side dish with your favorite hibachi-style main course or enjoy it on its own!
