FUN FACTS: BENIHANA 🏯

SECRET RECIPE: TACO BELL 🌮 

Volcano Menu Lava Sauce

The Easy Way, and the Hard Way

The lava sauce is probably one of the most requested recipes in our Facebook Group over the last two months, so we want to share two ways to prepare. This is a great topper on just about anything: Tacos, burgers, fries, chips, you name it.

The Easy Way

This is a summertime special and who knows when it will come back; so I wanted to make sure I could replicate the sauce while I had the sauce to compare. It doesn’t cost you much and can be prepared pretty quickly too.

Ingredients:

• Tostitos Queso (Medium)

• Sriracha for solid heat, or you can get some Taco Bell’s Fire sauce.

• Mayo (or sour cream) -Use sparingly to reduce the heat and increase the thickness.

Thats all you need! I don’t want to give you measurements because it’s really up to your heat pallet. But if you need a basic guide, one jar of queso, 2 tablespoons of fire sauce, and 1 tablespoon of mayo. Mix, refrigerate, and enjoy!

The Hard Way

I know saying ‘hard’ is a big of exaggerating, but it does require a number of ingredients and you need to get these measurements down.

Ingredients: (Makes ½ cup)

• 5 teaspoons powdered cheese (from 7.25 oz. Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Dinner)

• 1 teaspoon water

• 1 teaspoon white vinegar

• ½ cup of mayonnaise

• ¾ teaspoon ground cayanne pepper

• ½ teaspoon smoke paprika

• ¼ teaspoon granulated sugar

• ¼ teaspoon ground cumin

• pinch garlic powder

• pinch onion powder

Preparation:

1. Whisk water and vinegar into the powdered cheese in a medium bowl to form a paste.

2. Stir in remaining ingredients, cover, and chill.

Fatburger Impossible Hypocrite

Vegan Meets Bacon & Cheese????

I already know what your initial reaction to this is: “Why?”

Asking for a Meatless Burger is the same as asking for an Eggless Omelette. If you’ve never watched this hilarious video, please do:

Ok, now bare with me on this one..

I don’t expect any of you to jump to a Fatburger to try this secret menu. That wasn’t the point. The point is to find other ways of eating, creating our own secret menu items and sharing it with the Club, and we can replicate them in multiple locations as well. That’s why I chose this option.

More restaurants are carrying meatless options, so I figured I would try the Impossible option, and my 14 year old daughter chose the regular cheeseburger.

NEWSFLASH: I hate to break this to you, but you’ll be surprised which option she chose in a BLIND TASTE TEST. Yup you guessed it. The Impossible Hypocrite Wins.

The Fatburger Breakdown

My burger was far from vegan: It had a layer of mayo under the toasted bun and the bacon with American cheese on top of the Impossible patty. You can customize it to be whatever you want, and I could have ordered the Veggie Burger option, but I feel like that is an outdated vegetarian option and decided to go with the Impossible instead. And it was delicious! The combo of everything was so complimentary that I inhaled that burger without even touching my onion rings.

One huge benefit was that I felt great after eating it. Normally after inhaling a double double from In-n-Out I have a massive weight in my stomach but not after eating this.

HOWEVER I had immediate sticker shock when I found out how much 2 burgers, 1 fry, 1 onion ring, and 1 drink cost. Check it out below and cry with me. 😢

Bottom Line: The Impossible Hypocrite was a tasty burger that felt great in my stomach but not in my bank account. Hopefully I’ll find another Impossible at a cheaper restaurant and see who has the best bang for the buck. 😀

• 🍔 Hardee’s: $6 Star Deals: Hardee's released three new combo meal deals for only $6 each. They come with small fries and small drink, plus your choice of double cheeseburger, original hot ham & cheese sandwich, or 3-piece hand-breaded chicken tenders. For a limited time, you can also grab a jumbo chili dog as part of a $6 Star Deal as well.

• 🥪 Jack in the Box: 2 for $6 Cheddar Biscuit Sandwiches: Choice of sausage or bacon, egg, and American cheese. 🤤
