FUN FACTS: DUNKIN DONUTS 🍩 

• Dunkin' Donuts was known as "Open Kettle" but in 1950 William Rosenburg changed the name to the famous "Dunkin' Donuts"

• Dunkin diners used to exist. In addition to the usual donut and coffee offerings, these Dunkin’ diners also served items like fresh-cooked hash browns, grilled fish, grits, and sandwiches. Sadly, the last diner transitioned to a regular Dunkin’ in 2015, but in a nod to its past, the location still offers its coffee in ceramic mugs.

• Dunkin’ Donuts changed its name to Dunkin’ in 2019. But why drop the “Donuts”? It wasn’t just the fact that the chain actually sells more coffee than donuts — although 60% of their revenue does come from beverages — but also because they want to be thought of as a place to stop all day long, not just on your morning commute.

The Upside-down Iced Caramel Macchiato is the exact same thing as a regular caramel macchiato, but its ingredients are blended together instead of in layers. You know the feeling when you take a sip of your beverage and you get bitter, creamy, but not at the same time? When you order your macchiato this way, it eliminates the extra step of having to stir your drink together. Some say it’s genius, some say it’s lazy. We’ll let you decide.

SECRET RECIPE: BURGER KING 🤫 

Onion Rings

Ingredients:

• 2 large onions

• 1 cup all-purpose flour

• 1 teaspoon paprika

• 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

• 1/2 teaspoon salt

• 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

• 1 cup buttermilk

• Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

• Peel the onions and slice them into rings.

• In a bowl, whisk together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

• Dip the onion rings into the buttermilk, then coat them in the flour mixture.

• Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 375°F (190°C).

• Fry the onion rings in batches for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.

• Remove from the oil and drain on paper towels.

• Serve the onion rings hot.
